Geotechnical Field Technicians
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years experience as a geotechnical field technician, including familiarity with both rough grading and post grading activities. The candidate must be able to read and interpret project plans and specifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. This individual will interface with construction superintendents, on-site client representatives, and SoCalGeo engineering and geology staff. Although not required, qualification as a City of Los Angeles Deputy Grading Inspector, and or OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPR training is a plus.
We are also willing to train individuals for this position. A background in Engineering or an Earth Science is desired.
Staff Engineers and Geologists
SoCalGeo frequently has full-time opportunities for staff level Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists. A bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology is required. Prior experience in the geotechnical field is desired. This individual will work in both the field and office, functioning in a variety of roles, including subsurface exploration and/or mapping, construction quality control, analysis and design, and report preparation.
Student Engineering and Geology Interns
We regularly offer temporary positions for student interns.
These positions are usually offered to 3rdor 4thyear civil engineering or geology students.
